A BRILLIANT strategy for consistently LOSING

In partnership with

If you were asked, “What are your rules or principles around money” would you have an immediate answer?

I’ve tried this and predictably it yields a Dad-joke type response like, “My money rules are to have as much of it as possible. lol”

Or, “Make as much as possible.”

Got it.

You have no rules. And, no principles.

If I’m feeling extra spicy, I’ll follow up with a question like, “So, how important is money to fulfilling your goals and living the life you want?”

Answers…

“Everything.”

“Very.”

“Extremely.”

“Duh.”

Got it. No rules. No principles. The outcome however is roughly, um, essential.

A winning strategy for LOSING at games is:

Step 1: Never learn the rules;

Step 2: Don’t develop how you’ll play the game within the context of the rules; and,

Step 3: Go all-in

Voila! You’re a consistent loser.

If you want to super-charge YOUR LOSING, you look for “WHO’s” (i.e., Who not How). These are people you’ll abdicate responsibility to as the “experts” and then blame later when the results aren’t achieved.

You won’t be able to assess their “expertness” because you never learned the rules or developed how you’ll play the game.

Of course, there’s another option. It’s the ol’ George Constanza move (or, maybe you prefer Charlie Monger). It’s simple but not easy.

You do the opposite of what you have been doing..

You develop some rules and principles.

As a micro step (i.e., the smallest action you can take to get data), I’d suggest starting with some rules around how you manage your cash flow.

Want mine?

If so, I gotchu. Just hit reply.

Bonus points if you include something witty in your response.
